A spoke that has been stamped flat in the middle to improve aerodynamics so it can cut through the air better than a round spoke. The head and thread regions of the spoke are usually round like a conventional spoke then taper off into the flattened middle region. The flattened aerodynamic middle region can vary in width from 1.8mm to 3.0mm with a thickness of approximately 1.2mm
