Rear Derailleur Interface
The Rear Derailleur Interface determines how a rear derailleur can be mounted to a bicycle frame.
Direct Attach is the most common form of interface while Direct Mount is slowly gaining in popularity. Both of these interfaces use a derailleur hanger of sorts but they vary in how the derailleur mounts to the hanger and how the hanger mounts to the frame.
